The power of imagination
During week 02 we had the space to process feedback from the mentors. For our project, we decided to make our story shorter to be more consistent and effective.
Additionally, during this week we were getting to know the possible locations that fit our creative expectations. We finally chose the street in front of Leopold’s Ice Cream and Trustees Theater because at night, it is one of the most illuminated streets in Savannah and also the atmosphere generated by the different neon lights of the Trustees Theater creates a very interesting environment to play with the dynamics of smoke and fire.
For the LookDev process we did the HDRI shot of the street where we were able to collect all the lighting information of the location. One advantage of considering the night for shooting is that the light always remains constant for several hours. This is perfect since we don’t have a large crew and what is a normal production takes little time, in our project takes a little more. After processing all the information and creating the full 360 HDRI, LookDev and FX departments were able to use it in their processes to start having consistency throughout the entire production pipeline.
