The power of imagination
After receiving important feedback from the mentors, for week 03 we decided to do a lot of tests to re-produce our plates that weekend. In this opportunity we had the support of Professor Sturart to explain to us how to use and calibrate the Glidecam stabilizer. This stabilizer was fundamental to re-create our shots and maintain a clean aesthetic and without unwanted movements.
During the night of the recording, we created all the material we were going to need during the whole project. We created plates, reference plates, HDRIs, B-rolls and wrote down all the relevant information about the camera and lenses.

Thanks to this hard work, we were able to create our new cut. From this point my job was to create the layout of each of the shots. This work consists of organizing all the relevant information for the LoovDev, animation and Fx departments. Inside the folder of each shot it is important to have: the plate without lens distortion, the HDRI corresponding to the shot, the maya scene with the camera tracked and positioned in reference to our proxy buildings in real scale.
Tracking shoots
The tracking process was very interesting because we had most of the situations that can occur in a production. We have a static camera where it is necessary to align the perspective of the shot from a reference element such as a wooden cube. We also have a shot taken on a tripod, which is considered tracking with only rotational movement. Finally, we have totally free camera shots where the parallax information is essential to extract the information from the shot.
